Weave magic through their poetic language and transcendent visions
— Divine Comedy, Purgatory XXIV, vv. 52-57
Theme: This subclass connects directly to the Dolce Stil Novo's ideals of love and divine beauty as transcendent forces. Each feature reflects the poets' ability to inspire and captivate both allies and adversaries.
The name ('sweet new style') comes from a dialogue in Dante's Purgatorio (xxiv. 57). This style is marked mainly by praise of the beloved in religious terms as an embodiment of divine grace, an attitude seemingly influenced by troubadour poetry and the codes of courtly love.
Rasgos
Poetic Transcendence Nivel 3
You channel your bardic magic through refined and metaphysical poetry, inspiring profound thoughts and feelings.
Inspiration of Love. When a creature uses your Bardic Inspiration die, it regains hit points equal to the number rolled + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
Stanza of Enlightenment. As a Bonus Action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to recite a mystical stanza targeting one creature that can hear you within 30 feet of you. Choose one effect:
- Hearts Opened. The target has Advantage on Charisma Tests until the end of your next turn.
- Veil Lifted. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. Failure: Disadvantage on its next Test.
Voice of the Muse Nivel 3
Your connection to divine inspiration sharpens your eloquence and insight. You gain proficiency in Insight or Performance, and one additional language of your choice. You gain Expertise in one of these skills if you are already proficient in both.
Visionary Verse Nivel 6
Your poetry channels visions of divine beauty and metaphysical truth that inspire or bewilder your audience. As a Magic Action, you can weave a Visionary Verse. Choose up to three creatures within 60 feet of you that can hear you:
- Your Allies gain Temporary Hit Points equal to twice your Bard level and have Advantage on saving throws against the Frightened and Charmed conditions for 1 minute.
- Creatures Hostile to you make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. Failure: Blinded condition until the end of their next turn.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
Divine Illumination Nivel 14
Channeling the power of pure beauty and divine inspiration, as a Magic Action you invoke the highest ideals of the Dolce Stil Novo poets, that take the form of a 15-foot Emanation around you:
Aura of Inspiration. While in the Emanation, your Allies are Immune to Psychic Damage and gain a bonus to their saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier. When the Emanation enters an Hostile creature's space and whenever that creature enters the Emanation for the first time in a turn, or starts its turn there, that creature makes a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. Failure: Disadvantage on any Tests until the end of its next turn.
Final Canticle. As a Magic Action, you can recite a canticle of divine love, ending the Emanation. Choose up to six creatures within 60 feet that can hear you. Your Allies regain Hit Points equal to 5d10 + your Bard level up to their maximum, and end one Condition affecting them. Hostile creatures make a DC Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. Failure: 6d10 Psychic damage and the Blinded condition until the end of their next turn. Success: half as much damage and no other ill effects on a successful save.
Once you use this feature, you can't use them again until you finish a Long Rest.
