Haunted One

You are haunted by the events of your past. Whether it was a lone terrible incident or an accumulation of painful moments, you bear the unshakable weight of what happened to you. You've tried to bury it and run away from it, to no avail; it can't be slain with a sword or banished via magic. Nevertheless, you persist.

A background lists three of your character's ability scores. Increase one by 2 and another one by 1, or increase all three by 1. None of these increases can raise a score above 20.

Survivor or a Dark Gift feat of your choice.

Each background gives a character proficiency with one tool—either a specific tool or one chosen from the Artisan's Tools category.
