Description
You can only attune to this spear during the coldest months, or at a time of great personal mourning. While attuned, you gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made using it, and Advantage on saving throws made to avoid or end the Frightened condition. On a hit, the spear deals a bonus 2d8 Necrotic damage and you regain a number of Hit Points equal to half the amount of Necrotic damage dealt in this way. In addition, when making a ranged weapon attack to throw this spear and hitting a creature of size Large or larger with it, the creature is run through by it, while dark magics begin to siphon its vitality. A creature impaled by this spear takes 4d8 Necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns, while you regain a number of Hit Points equal to half the amount of Necrotic damage taken by the creature. This effect lasts until the impaled creature uses an Action to remove the spear from itself.
Sap (Mastery): If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Thrown: If a weapon has the Thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack, and you can draw that weapon as part of the attack. If the weapon is a Melee weapon, use the same ability modifier for the attack and damage rolls that you use for a melee attack with that weapon.
Versatile: A Versatile weapon can be used with one or two hands. A damage value in parentheses appears with the property. The weapon deals that damage when used with two hands to make a melee attack.
