Candle of Spectral Anamnesis

This candle's emanating fragrance carries your voice over to the world of the dead, where it echoes, compelling its denizens to your call. This candle's magic is activated when the candle is lit, which requires a Magic Action. After burning for 1 hour, the candle is destroyed. You can snuff it out early for use at a later time. Deduct the time it burned in increments of 1 minute from its total burn time. While lit, the candle sheds Dim Light in a 30-foot radius. Upon lighting this candle, you can attempt to summon the soul of a deceased creature which you know by name or title. The soul can willingly respond to your call or resist it by making a Charisma saving throw (save DC 14). Depending on how familiar the creature was to you in life and the Storyteller's discretion, it may gain Advantage or Disadvantage on this saving throw. On a successful save, the soul ignores your call and the candle's total burn time is reduced by 10 minutes. On a failed save, it appears before you at an unoccupied space within the light of the candle. You can then converse with the soul normally. The soul may remain in the world of the living for as long as the candle burns.
