Hearthbread

This loaf of bread appears ordinary at first glance but emits a comforting warmth and a faint, inviting aroma. It is wrapped in a simple, checkered cloth that always feels fresh and clean. A loaf of Hearthbread counts as 5 rations, each portion offering sustenance to a creature for an entire day. By breaking the bread and sharing it with at least one other creature, you can gain either of the following benefits.

Sweetest Taste. When shared as part of a Short Rest, Hit Dice rolled to restore Hit Points are rolled twice, keeping the highest result. In addition, creatures which partake gain Advantage on saving throws made to avoid or end the Frightened condition for the next hour.

Warmest Feeling. When shared around the fire before a Long Rest, it evokes warmth, warding the party from the harshest effects of cold environments for the duration of their rest.
